Basketball Recap: Landrum Picks Up Third Consecutive Victory

Greenville Tech Charter came into Thursday's matchup looking for another win against Landrum, but Kylie Fortner wouldn't allow it. The Landrum Cardinals blew past the Greenville Tech Charter Warriors 49-29 on Thursday thanks to Fortner, who posted 22 points and six steals. That makes it three consecutive games in which she has scored at least a third of Landrum's points.

The team also got some help courtesy of Emalynn Bright, who earned 12 points and three blocks. Those three blocks gave her a new career-high.

Greenville Tech Charter's loss shouldn't obscure the performances of Alacyea Killingsworth, who scored six points and four steals, and Sophie Chasteen, who had seven steals. Chasteen has been hot for a while, having posted two or more steals the last 13 times she's played.

The victory was the third in a row for Landrum, bringing their record for this year to 14-12. The wins came thanks in part to their defensive effort, having only surrendered 28.3 points over those games. As for Greenville Tech Charter, their defeat dropped their record down to 13-9.

As of now, neither Landrum nor Greenville Tech Charter have any future games scheduled.
