Softball Recap: Lawrence Academy Comes Up Short

Despite a phenomenal run in the regular season, Lawrence Academy couldn't carry that success into this playoff game. They fell just short of the Cape Fear Christian Academy Eagles by a score of 6-5 on Tuesday. Unfortunately, that's the third time they've come up short against the Eagles this season, with their most recent loss being a 3-2 defeat on Tuesday.

Caroline Halstead was cooking despite her team's loss, going 2-for-4 with two RBI and one double.

This is the second loss in a row for Lawrence Academy and nudges their season record down to 20-7. Even worse, they were so close both times: the losses came by an average of only one runs. As for Cape Fear Christian Academy, the win (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 12-1.

As of now, neither Lawrence Academy nor the Eagles have any future games scheduled.
