Volleyball Recap: Jackson Memorial Takes a Loss

Jackson Memorial was the 2-1 winner over Barnegat when they last played one another back in May of 2023, but their luck changed this time around. The Jaguars took a 2-0 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Bengals on Saturday. While getting shut out isn't ideal, the Jaguars haven't been shut out since back in April.

The final score came out to 25-15, 25-21.

Giedrius Makselis paced Jackson Memorial's offense, picking up nine kills. Makselis got some help from Reyhan Talib and his 19 assists. Daniel Barry controlled things from the service line, finishing with three aces.

Jackson Memorial's loss dropped their record down to 13-4. As for Barnegat, the win (which was their fourth in a row) raised their record to 17-3.

Jackson Memorial has already played their next contest, a 2-0 victory against Bloomfield on the 10th. Barnegat has also already played their next matchup (against Toms River East), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing.
