Softball Recap: Bella Vista Takes a Loss

If Bella Vista was riding high fresh off their 9-1 takedown of Rio Americano on Tuesday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Broncos fell 5-2 to the Vista del Lago Eagles on Wednesday. The defeat continues a trend for the Broncos in their meetings with the Eagles: they've now lost three in a row.

Rosie Harrod was cooking despite her team's loss, going a perfect 2-for-2 with one double and one RBI. Another player making a difference was Gianna Gambone, who went 1-for-4 with three stolen bases and one run.

Bella Vista now has a losing record of 12-13. As for Vista del Lago, with the win, they broke their three-game losing streak and moved their record to 8-10.

We've got plenty of inter-league action coming up soon. Bella Vista is set to face off against their familiar foe Ponderosa at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday. Meanwhile, Vista del Lago will challenge rival Christian Brothers at 4:00 p.m. on Monday.
