Basketball Recap: Shaker Heights Finds Playoff Glory Versus Normandy

It can be hard to translate regular season success to the playoffs, but Shaker Heights had no problem doing just that on Tuesday. They blew past the Normandy Invaders 65-43. Given the Red Raiders' advantage in MaxPreps' Ohio basketball rankings (they are ranked 174th, while the Invaders are ranked 637th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Quinn Coggins had an outrageously good game as he shot 71% from the field en route to 21 points along with eight rebounds and five steals. The dominant performance gave him a new career-high in steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Jacire Eaddy, who went 5-for-10 on his way to 11 points and five boards.

Shaker Heights' victory bumped their record up to 8-15. As for Normandy, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost six of their last eight matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 8-14 record this season.

Shaker Heights didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 72-67 win against Washington on the 1st. Normandy does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
