Baseball Preview: East Peoria Raiders vs. East Moline United Panthers

The East Peoria Raiders will head out on the road to challenge the East Moline United Panthers at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.

East Peoria took a loss when they played away from home on Friday, but their home fans gave them all the motivation they needed on Monday. Everything went their way against Metamora as East Peoria made off with an 8-1 win.

R.J. Duncheon was incredible, scoring two runs while going 2-for-4. The team also got some help courtesy of Dave Hartwell, who scored a run and stole a base while going 2-for-4.

Meanwhile, East Moline United entered their tilt with Riverdale with two consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with three. They put the hurt on the Rams with a sharp 9-3 victory on Monday.

Zach Darras made a splash while hitting and pitching. On the mound, he tossed 4.2 innings while giving up just one earned (and two unearned) runs off two hits. Darras was also big at the plate, going 1-for-2 with three RBI and a triple.

In other batting news, East Moline United let Nolan Malmstrom and Quinn Scott loose on the outfield. Malmstrom scored two runs while getting on base in three of his four plate appearances, while Scott scored a run while going 3-for-4. Brody Toland was another key contributor, scoring a run while going 1-for-3.

East Peoria's win was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 20-6. As for East Moline United, they are on a roll lately: they've won ten of their last 11 matches, which provided a nice bump to their 19-6 record this season.
