Basketball Recap: Blue Ridge Comes Up Short

Blue Ridge was the 68-47 winner over Camp Verde when they last played one another last Thursday, but their luck changed this time around. The Blue Ridge Yellow Jackets took a 70-55 bruising from the Camp Verde Cowboys on Friday. The Yellow Jackets have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Leading Camp Verde to victory were Jordan McMahon-Fullmer and Julian Perez. McMahon-Fullmer almost dropped a double-double on 21 points and nine boards, while Perez dropped a double-double on 14 points and ten rebounds. Perez is also on a roll when it comes to steals, as he's now grabbed three or more in the last three games he's played. Gage Russell was another key player, going 5 of 9 on his way to 12 points.

Blue Ridge's defeat dropped their record down to 2-6. As for Camp Verde, their win bumped their record up to 3-5.

Blue Ridge wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next match, a 63-42 loss against Winslow on the 16th. As for Camp Verde, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 70-60 victory against Valley on the 14th.
