While Herriman didn't have the best season last year (they finished 12-19), it's starting to look like those struggles are a thing of the past. They came out on top against the Layton Lancers by a score of 2-0 on Saturday. The victory continues a trend for the Mustangs in their matchups with the Lancers: they've now won three in a row.

Chloe Sopoaga paced Herriman's offense, picking up five kills. Sopoaga got some help from Savannah Chase and her ten assists. Sopoaga also made an impact serving: she shared the team lead in aces with Kenna Perry, racking up two apiece.

Herriman's win bumped their record up to 8-5. As for Layton, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 5-12.

Herriman wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next matchup, a 2-0 victory against West Jordan on the 6th. As for Layton, they have also already played their next game, a 2-0 win against Tooele on the 6th.
