Baseball Recap: Lawson Comes Up Short

Lawson was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their third straight defeat. They came up short against the Creek Wood Red Hawks, falling 11-2. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Red Hawks this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 7-2 on Monday.

Lawson got a good showing from Harper Schneiderman, who pitched three innings while giving up just one earned (and one unearned) run off one hit.

On the hitting side, Lawson saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was C.J. Thornton, who scored a run while going 2-for-3.

Lawson's loss dropped their record down to 5-5. As for Creek Wood, they pushed their record up to 10-1 with the victory, which was their fourth straight at home.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Lawson will face off against Overton at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday. Overton will roll in looking for their ninth straight win, something Lawson surely won't give up without a fight. As for Creek Wood, they will take on Dickson County at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday. The last three games Dickson County has played have been within two runs, so don't be surprised if it's a close one.
