Unfortunately, that's the third time they've come up short against the Wildcats this season, with their most recent defeat being a 15-0 loss back in March.

As for Oxford, they are on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 14-6 record this season. Considering they have won ten contests by more than five runs this season, Friday's blowout was nothing new.

For Oxford's part, Connor Commerford made a splash while hitting and pitching. He didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only one hit while striking out ten over seven innings pitched. Commerford has been consistent for a while: he hasn't given up more than two walks in 11 consecutive appearances. He was also solid in the batter's box, going 1-for-4 with two RBI, one run, and one double.
