Basketball Game Preview: Fenwick Friars vs. Brother Rice Crusaders

The Fenwick Friars are taking a road trip to take on the Brother Rice Crusaders at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.

Brother Rice will be up against a hot Fenwick squad: the team just extended their winning streak to three. Fenwick blew past Aurora Central Catholic 59-21 on Tuesday. Given the Friars' advantage in MaxPreps' Illinois basketball rankings (they are ranked 31st, while the Chargers are ranked 626th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Meanwhile, you're bound to get a positive result if you outscore your opponent every quarter, and that's exactly how it played out for Brother Rice on Tuesday. They were the clear victor by a 58-37 margin over St. Francis. The win was familiar territory for the Crusaders who have now won three contests in a row.

Fenwick's record now sits at 17-6. As for Brother Rice, their record is now 20-3.

Fenwick lost to Brother Rice on the road by a decisive 65-47 margin when the teams last played back in November of 2024. Can Fenwick avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
