Preview: Columbus East Olympians vs. Mooresville Pioneers
The Columbus East Olympians's homestand continues as they prepare to take on the Mooresville Pioneers at 7:30 p.m. on January 16th. Both teams took a loss in their last game, so they'll have plenty of motivation to get the 'W'.
Columbus East pushed their score all the way to 56 on Saturday, but even that wasn't enough to win. They fell just short of Seymour by a score of 59-56. Columbus East has struggled against Seymour recently, as their game on Saturday was their fifth consecutive lost matchup.

Meanwhile, Mooresville came up short against Columbus North on Friday and fell 63-51. Mooresville has now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
The loss doesn't tell the whole story though, as several players had good games. One of the most active was Christopher Thompson-moore, who scored 16 points along with four steals. That's the first time this season that he scored 15 or more points. The team also got some help courtesy of Aj Defur, who dropped a double-double on ten points and 11 rebounds.
Columbus East has been struggling recently, as they've lost five of their last six games, which put a noticeable dent in their 4-8 record this season. As for Mooresville, they bumped their record down to 5-9 with that defeat, which was their sixth straight at home dating back to last season.
Things could have been worse for Columbus East, but things could have been a whole lot better as they took a 63-48 loss to Mooresville when the teams last played back in January of 2023.
