Baseball Recap: Jackson Center Comes Up Short

Jackson Center was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their third straight defeat. They were a single run away from ending the streak, but they lost a 6-5 heartbreaker at the hands of the Covington Buccaneers. If the Tigers were looking for revenge after losing 18-0 to the Buccaneers when the teams met back in May of 2024, then they'll just have to keep looking.

Jackson Center's loss dropped their record down to 6-12. As for Covington, they are on a roll lately: they've won nine of their last 11 matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 12-9 record this season.

Jackson Center will square off against Fairlawn at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday. The Jets have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 11.38 runs per game on average), something the Tigers will no doubt try to take advantage of. As for Covington, they will take on Northwestern at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. The Warriors have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 8.52 runs per game on average), something the Buccaneers will no doubt try to take advantage of.
