            Albuquerque faced Eldorado in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Thursday. The Bulldogs skirted past the Golden Eagles  17-14. For the Bulldogs, this counts as revenge for the   21-6 victory the Golden Eagles walked away with the last time they faced one another  back in October of 2024.

Albuquerque's win  was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from   Alberto Landeros, who rushed for 155 yards while picking up 7.8 yards per carry. Landeros has become a key player for the Bulldogs: the team is 4-1 when he posts  at  least  100  rushing yards, but 1-2 otherwise.  Julian Madera helped out on the ground, rushing for 128 yards and a  rushing touchdown.
 They were just one part of a punishing run game: Albuquerque was unstoppable on the ground and  finished the game with 296  rushing yards. They are  a perfect 4-0 when  they've run for more than 200 yards.
Albuquerque has  been performing  well recently as they've  won three of their last four contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 5-3 record  this season. As for Eldorado, their loss dropped their record down to 3-5.
 We've got plenty of inter-district action coming up soon. Albuquerque is set to  face off against  their familiar foe Sandia  at 7:00  p.m.  on  the 24th. Meanwhile, Eldorado will  take on  rival West Mesa  at 7:00  p.m.  on Thursday.
