Baseball Game Preview: Pasquotank County Panthers vs. Northeastern Eagles

For the second straight game, Pasquotank County will face off against Northeastern. The Panthers will venture away from home to face off against the Eagles at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday.

Pasquotank County is headed in fresh off scoring the most runs they have all season. They were the clear victors by a 13-7 margin over Northeastern on Monday.

Landon Dodson and Connor Beech were major factors while hitting and pitching. Throwing, Dodson struck out nine batters over 4.1 innings while giving up just two earned (and five unearned) runs off seven hits (and not a single walk). Meanwhile, Beech tossed 2.2 innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. Dodson also tossed no walks, which is notable because Pasquotank County is 3-1 when he allows at most one walk, but 2-11 otherwise. At the plate, Dodson went a perfect 4-for-4 with two stolen bases, three RBI, and two runs, while Beech got on base in two of his five plate appearances with two runs, one stolen base, and one RBI. Those two stolen bases gave Dodson a new career-high.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Nathan Rice, who got on base in all five of his plate appearances with four runs and two stolen bases. Those four runs gave him a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Nathan Raynor, who went 3-for-5 with three runs and one stolen base.

Northeastern is on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 4-11. As for Pasquotank County, their victory ended a four-game drought at home and bumped them up to 5-12.
