Softball Recap: Bonneville Beats Shelley for Their Fifth Straight Victory

It may have taken eight innings to finish the job, but Bonneville ultimately got the result they hoped for on Wednesday. They narrowly escaped with a victory as the team sidled past the Shelley Russets 2-1. Winning may never get old, but the Bees sure are getting used to it with their fifth in a row.

Gracie Longhurst spent all eight innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered only one earned run on three hits and racked up 17 Ks. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't tossed less than nine strikeouts in 11 consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, Alyvia Rudd was excellent, going 3-for-4 with one triple and one run. That's the most hits she has posted since back in April.

Bonneville pushed their record up to 17-9 with the win, which was their fourth straight on the road. Those road victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.5 runs on average over those games. As for Shelley, their loss dropped their record down to 15-8.

As of now, neither Bonneville nor the Russets have any future games scheduled.
