Softball Game Preview: Chicago Christian Knights vs. Bishop McNamara Fightin' Irish

The Chicago Christian Knights will head out on the road to face off against the Bishop McNamara Fightin' Irish at 4:30 p.m. on Monday. The squads are rolling into the game with opposing streaks: Chicago Christian has struggled recently with 14 losses in a row, while Bishop McNamara will arrive with eight straight victories.

Chicago Christian came up short against St. Edward on Friday, falling 9-2.

Meanwhile, Bishop McNamara narrowly escaped with a win as the team sidled past Marian Central Catholic 3-1.

Joslynn Dole spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered a run (which was unearned) on one hit.

On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Teagan McCue, who went 2-for-3 with two runs, one stolen base, and one double. Another player making a difference was Rhaya DePaolo, who went 1-for-2 with three RBI.

Bishop McNamara's victory was their seventh straight at home, which pushed their record up to 12-4. Those home wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 11.7 runs over those games. As for Chicago Christian, their defeat dropped their record down to 1-15.

Chicago Christian suffered a grim 20-1 defeat to Bishop McNamara in their previous matchup back in April of 2024. Can the Knights avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
