Basketball Recap: Cedar Vale/Dexter Starts Season with Win on the Road

Cedar Vale/Dexter had to kick off their season on the road on Friday, but they showed no ill effects. They slipped by the Oswego Indians 43-42. The Spartans have seen this before: they got the W the last time they saw the Indians, too.

Kylee Bragg was the offensive standout of the contest as she posted eight points and eight rebounds. That's the most points she has posted since back in December of 2023. The team also got some help courtesy of Brooke Haunschild, who had four points.

Despite the loss, Oswego saw an underclassman step up: freshman Kodi Trimble earned 13 points and eight rebounds.

Cedar Vale/Dexter wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next game, a 48-22 victory against Copan on the 9th. As for Oswego, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next matchup, a 51-46 defeat against Northeast on the 9th.
