Soccer Game Preview: McKay vs. South Albany

McKay is a perfect 3-0 against South Albany since October of 2022 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Tuesday. The Royal Scots are taking a road trip to take on the Redhawks at 7:00 p.m. Neither squad made it on the board the last time they hit the pitch, so they've probably got a bit of extra motivation.

McKay fell victim to Crescent Valley and their airtight defense on Tuesday. They fell just short of the Raiders by a score of 1-0. McKay haven't had much luck with Crescent Valley recently, as the team has come up short the last three times they've met.

Meanwhile, South Albany also failed to score in their most recent game. They lost 5-0 to West Albany on Tuesday. While losing is never fun, South Albany can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Oregon soccer rankings (they are ranked 113th, while West Albany are ranked 27th).

McKay now has a losing record of 3-4-1. As for South Albany, their loss dropped their record down to 2-4-2.

Everything went McKay's way against South Albany in their previous matchup back in October of 2024, as McKay made off with a 5-2 win. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Royal Scots since the team won't have the home-pitch advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
