East has gone 8-1 against Kennett recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Friday. The Vikings will venture away from home to challenge the Blue Demons at 3:45 p.m. East is coming into the game hot, having won their last three games.

For some reason, the away team has come away with the win the last five times East and Downingtown West have met, but the home crowd finally got their W on Thursday. The Vikings blew past the Whippets 11-4. Considering the Vikings have won three contests by more than six runs this season, Thursday's blowout was nothing new.

Meanwhile, Kennett hadn't done well against Sun Valley recently (they were 2-7 in their previous nine matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Wednesday. The Blue Demons' pitcher stepped up to hand the Vanguards a 3-0 shutout.

The result came thanks to Rex Bright's shutout, as he gave up just three hits.

At the plate, Kennett's win was truly a team effort as three different players contributed at least one hit. One of them was Cole Doherty, who scored a run while going 1-for-3. Doherty also put up a double, which was his first of the season.

The victory got East back to even at 4-4. As for Kennett, their win was their first in the conference, bumping their conference record up to 1-5 and their overall record up to 3-6-1.

East took their victory against Kennett when the teams last played back in April of 2024 by a conclusive 10-3 score. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Vikings since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
