Game recap: Wengel's four passing touchdowns help Ripon best Modesto Christian

Ripon (Calif.) bested Modesto Christian (Modesto, Calif.) 52-0 while riding the arm of Kyle Wengel, who tossed four touchdown passes.

After taking the lead on a touchdown pass by Wengel to Michael Morris in the first quarter, the Indians led 31-0 at the half.

Ripon expanded its lead to 45 points entering the fourth quarter. RHS scored two times in the third, including once on a touchdown pass by Wengel to Bradley Clark.

With the win the Indians extended their winning streak to six games. Ripon defeated the Cougars 34-28 last week.

RHS had given up an average of 10.2 points prior to the contest. The zero points that the Crusaders ended with were well below their average of 27.8 coming into the game.



A 40-33 Ripon victory was the result when the squads faced off last season.

The loss comes after Modesto Christian defeated Hilmar 32-21 last week. The loss snapped Modesto Christian's 2-game winning streak.

In a Trans Valley game next week Modesto Christian (3-3) takes on Riverbank, and Ripon (6-0) will go up against Hughson also in a Trans Valley game.
