Baseball Recap: St. Joseph's Victory on Tuesday Extends Winning Streak to Three

Two teams were on the hunt for playoff glory, but only St. Joseph walked away with it. They had just enough and edged out the Lake Country Lutheran Lightning 5-4 on Tuesday. The win was nothing new for the Lancers as they're now sitting on three straight.

Dominic Santarelli was a major factor while hitting and pitching. He looked comfortable on the mound, tossing two innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. What's more, he posted two strikeouts, the most he's had since back in April. He was also solid in the batter's box, going 1-for-3 with two stolen bases, one run, and one double. He is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as he's now snagged at least one in each of the last 11 games he's played.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Peter Visconti, who got on base in all four of his plate appearances with one stolen base, one run, and one RBI. Zach Rizzo was another key player, going 1-for-3 with two runs and one double.

St. Joseph's victory bumped their record up to 24-7. As for Lake Country Lutheran, the defeat snapped their winning streak at six games and leaves them with a 20-6-1 record.

St. Joseph has already played their next matchup, a 4-0 win against Cedar Grove-Belgium on the 10th. Lake Country Lutheran does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
