Softball Game Preview: Annenberg Panthers vs. USC-MAE Trojans

Annenberg is 2-8 against USC-MAE since April of 2018 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Monday. The Panthers will head out to square off against the Trojans at 2:00 p.m. Expect the scorekeeper to be kept busy: if their previous games are any indication, these teams will really light up the scoreboard.

Last Friday, Annenberg made easy work of Downtown Magnets and carried off a 29-21 victory.

Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask USC-MAE). They put the hurt on Downtown Magnets with a sharp 26-8 win on Friday. The team's explosion at the plate also rewarded the Trojans with their most commanding win of the season.

USC-MAE pushed their record up to 3-1 with the victory, which was their sixth straight at home dating back to last season. Those home wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 21.7 runs over those games. As for Annenberg, the victory got them back to even at 1-1.

Annenberg suffered a grim 22-5 defeat to USC-MAE when the teams last played back in April of 2024. Can the Panthers avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
