Basketball Recap: Saturday's Loss Ends Alleghany's Winning Streak

After a string of five wins, Alleghany's good fortune finally ran out on Saturday. They fell 54-47 to the North Stokes Vikings. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Trojans of the 70-50 loss they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in February of 2024.

Several Trojans players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Colby Crouse, who went 5 for 12 on his way to 15 points and six rebounds. Crouse's afternoon made it four games in a row in which he has scored at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Lance Shatley, who posted 11 points.

Alleghany's defeat ended a three-game streak of away wins and brought them to 7-6. As for North Stokes, their record is now 11-5.

Coincidentally, both will both be playing Mount Airy the next time they take the court. Alleghany will head out to face Mount Airy at 7:45 p.m. on Tuesday, while North Stokes will head out to face them at 7:45 p.m. on Wednesday.
