Basketball Preview: St. Thomas More Academy Chancellors vs. Friendship Christian Falcons

St. Thomas More Academy has enjoyed a two-game homestand but will soon have to dust off their road jerseys. They will face off against the Friendship Christian Falcons at 5:30 p.m. on Friday. St. Thomas More Academy will be strutting in after a win while the Falcons will be coming in after a loss.

St. Thomas More Academy scored the most points they've had all season to find success on Tuesday. They claimed a resounding 61-16 victory over Thales Academy Rolesville at home. St. Thomas More Academy has made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won eight contests by 24 points or more this season.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead St. Thomas More Academy to victory, but perhaps none more so than Libby Fix, who dropped a double-double on 12 points and 11 steals. Fix is on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now grabbed four or more in the last 11 games she's played. Another player making a difference was Enora Boutrand, who scored 13 points along with five steals.

Meanwhile, Friendship Christian's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Tuesday after their 12th straight defeat. They were outmatched by Trinity of Durham and Chapel Hill on the road and fell 58-26. The defeat unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Friendship Christian in their matchups with the Lion: they've now lost three in a row.

St. Thomas More Academy is on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 15-10 record this season. As for Friendship Christian, their defeat was their sixth straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 3-18.

St. Thomas More Academy strolled past the Falcons in their previous matchup back in January by a score of 38-21. The rematch might be a little tougher for St. Thomas More Academy since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
