Basketball Recap: Lee Park Prep Picks Up Fourth Consecutive Win

Lee Park Prep won the last time they faced Gospel Light Christian, and Viviana Nigro did her part to make sure it happened again. The Lee Park Prep Knights enjoyed a cozy 53-39 win over Gospel Light Christian on Thursday thanks in part to Nigro, who almost dropped a double-double on 27 points and nine steals. The game was her 15th in a row with at least ten points.

Another player making a difference was Peyton Conway, who posted 16 points and five steals. She is on a roll when it comes to points, as she's now scored 16 or more in the last six games she's played.

Gospel Light Christian's defeat came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Maggie Jo Church, who almost dropped a double-double on 14 points and nine boards. Brooklyn Miller was another key player, almost dropping a double-double on 11 points and nine rebounds.

The victory (which was Lee Park Prep's fourth in a row) raised their record to 13-2. Those victories came thanks to their defensive effort, having only surrendered 23.5 points per game. As for Gospel Light Christian, the loss snapped their winning streak at four games and leaves them with a 12-3 record.

Lee Park Prep didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next match, an 82-26 defeat against Arborbrook Christian Academy on the 24th. Gospel Light Christian has also already played their next contest, a 49-24 win against Vandalia Christian on the 24th.
