Basketball Game Preview: Grenada Chargers vs. Saltillo Tigers

Grenada is preparing for their first district matchup of the season on Tuesday. They will square off against the Saltillo Tigers at 7:30 p.m. Both come into the contest bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

Last Saturday, Grenada didn't have too much trouble with Coffeeville as they won 47-30. The victory continues a trend for the Chargers in their matchups with the Pirates: they've now won three in a row.

Grenada relied on the efforts of Tyler Edwards, who posted 16 points, and Brody Jackson, who earned 11 points. Edwards continues to improve, besting his previous point total in each of the last three games he's played.

Meanwhile, Saltillo sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 67-64 win over Jasper on Tuesday.

Saltillo's record now sits at 4-1. As for Grenada, the victory was their first on the road , bumping their record up to 3-5.

Grenada might still be hurting after the 74-54 loss they got from Saltillo in their previous meeting back in January. A big factor in that loss was the dominant performance of the Tigers' Crayden Shannon, who shot 65% from the field to rack up 27 points. Now that the Chargers know the damage he can cause, will they be able to stop him this time? There's only one way to find out.
