Softball Game Preview: Porter Spartans vs. West Fork Gators

The Porter Spartans will square off against the West Fork Gators at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. Neither Porter nor West Fork posted many runs in their last games, so it might be the pitching crews that decide this one.

Porter fought the good fight in their extra-innings match against Crosby on Tuesday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They fell just short of the Cougars by a score of 2-1. The defeat continues a trend for the Spartans in their meetings with the Cougars: they've now lost nine in a row.

Meanwhile, West Fork came up short against Dayton on Tuesday and fell 6-1. The Gators have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

West Fork saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Felicity Acosta, who scored a run while going 1-for-2.

Porter's loss dropped their record down to 7-6-1. As for West Fork, they now have a losing record of 6-7.
