Football Game Preview: Higgins vs. Lefors

If the MaxPreps national rankings hold true, the near future looks bright for Lefors. They will challenge Higgins on the road at 7:30 PM on Thursday. If the match is anything like the 44-38 finish from the last time they met, the scorekeeper will be kept real busy.

If Lefors were riding high off their 51-6 takedown of Valley two weeks ago, that ride came to an abrupt end. Lefors were completely outmatched, falling 20-68 to Follett. A silver lining for Lefors was the play of senior Braden Tapp, who picked up 136 yards on the ground and threw 2 TDs. In fact, with 12 tackles Tapp was a force on both sides of the ball.

Meanwhile, their game two weeks ago wasn't at all kind to Higgins, but their most recent contest may have softened the blow. They took their game against Hedley last Thursday 20-12.

Higgins's victory lifted them to 3-4 while Lefors's loss dropped them down to 3-3. We'll see if Higgins' success rolls on or if Lefors are able to steal their positive momentum.
