Basketball Game Preview: Linsly Cadets vs. Shenandoah Zeps

The Linsly Cadets will take on the Shenandoah Zeps in a holiday battle at at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday. Linsly is coming into the match on a five-game losing streak.

Last Monday, Linsly didn't have quite enough to beat Monroe Central and fell 54-52. The loss was a bit of a surprise, as the Cadets came into the contest with a sizable advantage in MaxPreps' basketball rankings in their respective home states (they are ranked 14th in West Virginia, while the Seminoles are ranked 168th in Ohio).

Meanwhile, Shenandoah came up short against River on Monday and fell 67-55.

Linsly will have to keep a close watch on Brenna Leach and Emily Moore, a pair of players who had a big impact on Shenandoah's prior game. Leach dropped a double-double on 18 points and 17 rebounds, while Moore posted 17 points along with five rebounds and four steals. Moore's evening made it five games in a row in which she has scored at least ten points. Ella Binkiewicz was another key player, putting up two points and six assists.

Even though they lost, Shenandoah smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 21 offensive rebounds. That's the most offensive boards they've managed all season.

Linsly's loss dropped their record down to 1-5. As for Shenandoah, their defeat dropped their record down to 4-2.

Linsly skirted past Shenandoah 56-54 in their previous matchup back in January. Will Linsly repeat their success, or does Shenandoah have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
