Soccer Recap: Elk Rapids Takes a Loss

After flying high against Grayling on Monday, Elk Rapids came back down to earth. The Elks fell 2-0 to the Oxford Wildcats on Thursday. If Elk Rapids were looking for revenge after losing 4-0 to Oxford when the teams met back in May of 2024, then they'll just have to keep looking.

Elk Rapids has also been struggling recently as they've lost three of their last four matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 7-6 record this season. As for Oxford, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 5-8-3.

Elk Rapids didn't take long to hit the pitch again: they've already played their next game, a 1-0 loss against Big Rapids on the 10th. As for Oxford, they will welcome Regina at 4:30 p.m. on Monday.
