Softball Recap: Shawnee Comes Up Short

Parkway hit Shawnee with a six-run seventh inning on Monday, which goes a long way in explaining the final result. The Indians fell just short of the Panthers by a score of 7-5. If the Indians were looking for revenge after losing 2-1 to the Panthers when the teams met back in April of 2025, then they'll just have to keep looking.

Riley Rhodes spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered six earned (and one unearned) runs on seven hits and racked up 11 Ks.

On the hitting side, Shawnee saw six different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Addie Melson, who went 1-for-2 with one run.

This is the second loss in a row for Shawnee and nudges their season record down to 13-5. As for Parkway, the victory was the fourth in a row for them, bringing their record up to 17-2.

Looking ahead, Shawnee will be playing at home against Memorial at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Parkway, they will head out to take on Fort Recovery at 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
