Basketball Recap: Gull Lake Comes Up Short

Gull Lake was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their third straight defeat. They might have been a little too into the holiday spirit, gifting the Portage Northern Huskies an easy 62-38 victory. The Blue Devils were not able to make up for their loss to the Huskies from their previous meeting back in February.

Gull Lake's defeat dropped their record down to 1-6. As for Portage Northern, the win (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 4-1.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Gull Lake will have a little extra prep time after the loss as they won't be playing again for a while. They'll take on Concord at 3:30 p.m. on January 4, 2025. Portage Northern will wrap up 2024 with a road trip to face off against Forest Hills Northern at 12:00 p.m. on December 28th.
