Baseball Game Preview: Langham Creek Lobos vs. Waller Bulldogs

The Langham Creek Lobos will challenge the Waller Bulldogs at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (Langham Creek has four straight wins, Waller has five straight losses), but none of that matters once you're on the field.

Langham Creek gave up the first runs on Friday, but they didn't let that get them down. They skirted past Cypress Park 9-8.

Caden Thomas was a major factor while hitting and pitching. On the mound, he pitched two innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. He also tossed no walks, which is notable because Langham Creek is 2-1 when he allows at most one walk, but 7-13 otherwise. Thomas was also solid in the batter's box, scoring three runs while going 2-for-4. Those three runs gave him a new career-high.

In other batting news, Santiago Hernandez was excellent, scoring a run while going 2-for-4. The dominant performance also gave him a new career-high in doubles (two). Kaleb Mendez was another key player, scoring two runs while going 1-for-2.

Langham Creek kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 13 hits. The team's really been improving in that area: they've now improved their hit total in four consecutive contests.

Meanwhile, Friday just wasn't the day for Waller's offense. They came up short against Bridgeland on Friday, falling 15-0.

Langham Creek's victory bumped their record up to 9-14. As for Waller, their defeat dropped their record down to 6-15-1.
