Basketball Recap: Ryan Walker's Big Game Can't Quite Lead Galesburg Christian over Morning Star Academy

Galesburg Christian was the 62-46 winner over Morning Star Academy when they last played one another back in December of 2024, but their luck changed this time around. The Galesburg Christian Lions fell just short of the Morning Star Academy Mustangs by a score of 43-40 on Friday. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest loss the Lions have suffered against the Mustangs since January 7, 2022.

Galesburg Christian's defeat came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Ryan Walker, who posted eight points along with ten rebounds and three blocks. Walker has been hot recently, having posted two or more blocks the last four times he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Isaac Movida, who had 16 points.

It was another big night for Isaac Yowell, who dropped a double-double on 25 points and 13 boards for Morning Star Academy. The dominant performance gave Yowell a new career-high in points. Another player making a difference was Joshua Brady, who put up three points and five steals.

Galesburg Christian now has a losing record at 7-8. As for Morning Star Academy, they have been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four games, which provided a massive bump to their 6-8 record this season.
