Football Recap: Hemlock Comes Up Short + How To Watch

Hemlock had lost six straight on the road dating back to last season, but on Friday they dropped down to 1-4 to make it seven. They took a blow against the Ithaca Yellowjackets, falling 44-0. While losing is never fun, the Huskies can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Michigan football rankings (they are ranked 395th, while the Yellowjackets are ranked 77th).

As for Ithaca, the victory keeps them at an undefeated 5-0. The result was nothing new for the Yellowjackets, who have now won four matchups by 29 points or more so far this season.

It was another big night for Greyson Merchant, who rushed for 75 yards and a pair of scores, and also threw for 120 yards and one touchdown.

Looking ahead, Hemlock will look to defend their home field on Friday against Nouvel Catholic Central at 7:00 p.m. The Huskies' defense better be ready for this one: the Panthers have averaged an impressive 30.8 points per game this season. As for Ithaca, they will head out on the road to challenge Valley Lutheran at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The Chargers' defense has only allowed 9.8 points per game this season, so the Yellowjackets' offense will have their work cut out for them.
