Recap: Altoona-Midway Jets vs. Uniontown Eagles
It was a good run, but the Altoona-Midway Jets unfortunately witnessed the end of their three-game winning streak on Friday. They took a 54-40 bruising from Uniontown. Altoona-Midway has struggled against Uniontown recently, as their matchup on Friday was their eighth consecutive lost matchup.
Altoona-Midway's loss came despite strong showings from Jacob Meigs and William Stackhouse. Meigs scored 15 points along with four blocks and two steals, while Stackhouse scored 11 points along with seven rebounds and four steals. Stackhouse is absolutely dominating the steal category: he's posted at least two every time he's taken the court this season. Another player making a difference was Kieran Foster, who scored 13 points.
Altoona-Midway's defeat dropped their record down to 5-4. As for Uniontown, the victory got them back to even at 4-4.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Altoona-Midway will take on Liberty HomeSchool Alliance at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in Kansas (Liberty HomeSchool Alliance is ranked 256th, while Altoona-Midway is ranked 238th). As for Uniontown, they will stay at home for another game and welcome Osawatomie at 8:30 p.m. on January 16th. Osawatomie is hoping to put an end to a three-game streak of away losses.
