Preview: Palmyra-Macedon Red Raiders vs. Newark/Marion
Palmyra-Macedon has enjoyed a two-game homestand but will soon have to dust off their road jerseys. They will challenge The Newark/Marion at 7:00 p.m. on Saturday. Palmyra-Macedon knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with flashy point totals in its past four matches -- so hopefully Newark/Marion likes a good challenge.
Palmyra-Macedon stacked a fourth blowout onto their ever-increasing hoard on Friday. They really took it to Greece Olympia/Greece Odyssey for the full four quarters, racking up a 44-8 win at home. Palmyra-Macedon pushed the score to 38-8 by the end of the third, a deficit Greece Olympia/Greece Odyssey had little chance of recovering from.
Meanwhile, Newark/Marion fell victim to Ithaca's stalwart defense on Saturday and couldn't make it onto the board. They suffered a tough 20-0 defeat at the hands of the Little Red. Having soared to a lofty 41 points in the game before, Newark/Marion couldn't push the score so high this time.
Palmyra-Macedon's victory lifted them to 6-0 while Newark/Marion's defeat dropped them down to 5-2.
Palmyra-Macedon strolled past Newark/Marion in their previous matchup back in September of 2022 by a score of 47-30. Does Palmyra-Macedon have another victory up their sleeve, or will Newark/Marion turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
