Basketball Recap: Heartland Christian Takes a Loss

Heartland Christian was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their sixth straight defeat. They took a 58-46 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Suburban Christian Crusaders. If the Saints were looking for revenge after losing 43-41 to them when the teams met back in February of 2024, then they'll just have to keep looking.

Suburban Christian was led to victory by Ayden Montgomery and Chad Glover. Montgomery posted 18 points and eight rebounds, while Glover almost dropped a double-double on 15 points and nine boards. That's the most boards Montgomery has posted since back in January of 2024. Another player making a difference was Garrett Elliott, who earned eight points along with five rebounds and three steals.

Heartland Christian's loss dropped their record down to 6-10. As for Suburban Christian, they have been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five contests, which provided a nice bump to their 9-3 record this season.

Looking ahead, Heartland Christian will take on Legacy Christian at 7:00 p.m. on February 13th. As for Suburban Christian, they wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next match, a 58-55 defeat against Anderson HomeSchool on the 6th.
