Baseball Game Preview: Milford Bearcats vs. Westmont Sentinels

The Milford Bearcats will face off against the Westmont Sentinels at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Milford will be looking to extend their current four-game winning streak.

Beau Wright and Hixon Lafond made a big impact no matter where they played. Throwing, Wright didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only two hits while striking out seven over five innings pitched. Meanwhile, Lafond tossed two innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. He has become a key player for Milford: the team is 3-1 when he allows at most two hits, but 5-7 otherwise. At bat, Wright went a perfect 4-for-4 with one stolen base and one run, while Lafond went 1-for-2 with two stolen bases and two runs. Those two stolen bases gave Lafond a new career-high.

Westmont played against Christ the King on Saturday and won via forfeit.

Westmont has been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 11-8-1 record this season. The victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 9.8 runs over those games. As for Milford, they pushed their record up to 8-8 with the win, which was their third straight on the road.
