Football Recap: Davidson Comes Up Short + How To Watch

Davidson had lost four straight at home dating back to last season, but on Friday they dropped down to 2-4 to make it five. They took a blow against the Daphne Trojans, falling 50-20. While losing is never fun, the Warriors can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Alabama football rankings (they are ranked 95th, while the Trojans are ranked 14th).

Davidson lost despite a true team effort on offense. The best among them was Kingston Butler, who picked up 138 receiving yards and one TD. The team also got some help courtesy of Micah Spivey, who threw for 182 yards and one touchdown.

As for Daphne, the victory was the fourth in a row for them, bringing their record up to 6-1. Their offense stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most points they've scored all season.

Daphne got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Christian Segar out in front who threw for 340 yards and three TDs while picking up 10.6 yards per attempt. Segar is on a roll when it comes to passing touchdowns, as he's now passed for three or more in each of the last five games he's played. Daphne's leading receiver CJ Gardner was Segar's top target yet again, picking up 112 receiving yards and a pair of scores.

Davidson has already played their next matchup, a 15-14 victory against Robertsdale on the 10th. As for Daphne, they also wasted no time getting back out on the field and have already played their next contest, a 39-0 win against Bryant on the 10th.
