Prosper has gone 8-2 against McKinney recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Monday. The Eagles will be playing at home against the Lions at 7:15 p.m. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (Prosper has four straight victories, McKinney has nine straight losses), but none of that matters once you're on the field.
Prosper came out on top against Plano on Thursday thanks in part to the team's impressive eight-run fourth inning. The Eagles blew past the Wildcats 15-5. The Eagles might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won nine matchups by six runs or more this season.
Peyton Moya made a big impact no matter where she played. She struck out six batters over four innings while giving up just two earned (and two unearned) runs off four hits (and not a single walk). She has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't given up more than two walks in 15 consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, going 2-for-3 with two runs and one RBI.

In other batting news, Bella Lopez and Reese Bruno did most of the damage at the plate: Lopez went 4-for-5 with four runs, three RBI, and one triple, while Bruno went 2-for-3 with three RBI, two runs, and one triple. Those four runs gave Lopez a new career-high. Kenzie Orgeron was another key player, going a perfect 1-for-1 with two RBI, one run, and one double.
Prosper kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 11 hits. They are a perfect 9-0 when they post 11 or more hits.
Plano West hit McKinney with a 15-run third inning on Thursday, which goes a long way in explaining the final result. The Lions lost 19-2 to the Wolves.
McKinney saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Leyla Molina, who went 1-for-2 with one stolen base, one run, and one double.
Prosper's win bumped their record up to 13-10. As for McKinney, their defeat dropped their record down to 2-21.
McKinney's pitching crew has a crucial task ahead of them: Prosper has been making plenty of contact this season, having averaged 8.7 hits per game. It's a different story for McKinney, though, as they've been averaging 13.1 hits. Given Prosper's sizable advantage in that area, the Lions will need to find a way to close that gap.
Prosper got the 'W' when the teams last played back in March against McKinney by a conclusive 15-3 score. Will the Eagles repeat their success, or do the Lions have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
