Football Game Preview: West Jefferson Roughriders vs. Colonel Crawford Eagles

The West Jefferson Roughriders will challenge the Colonel Crawford Eagles at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Expect the scorekeeper to be kept busy: if their previous games are any indication, these teams will really light up the scoreboard.

West Jefferson is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Friday. They had just enough and edged out Fort Frye 34-32. The victory continues a trend for the Roughriders in their matchups with the Cadets: they've now won three in a row.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead West Jefferson to victory, but perhaps none more so than Austin Buescher, who threw for 380 yards and four touchdowns while completing 71.1% of his passes. That's the most passing touchdowns Buescher has posted since back in September. Blake Bogenrife helped Buescher out on the ground, picking up 129 receiving yards and a pair of scores, while also punching in one rushing score.

Meanwhile, Colonel Crawford won against Mt. Gilead last Friday with 42 points and they decided to stick to that point total again on Friday. The Eagles blew past Centerburg 42-13. The Eagles might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won ten matchups by 22 points or more this season.

West Jefferson's record is now 11-1. As for Colonel Crawford, their record now sits at 12-1.
