Basketball Recap: Abbott Comes Up Short

Abbott played a tough matchup on Friday in which they were outscored in every quarter. They came up short against the Jonesboro Eagles, falling 70-45. The defeat continues a trend for the Panthers in their matchups with the Eagles: they've now lost six in a row.

Abbott's loss dropped their record down to 7-5. As for Jonesboro, they pushed their record up to 16-7 with the win, which was their fifth straight on the road.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Abbott will have a little extra prep time after the defeat as they won't be playing again for a while. They'll take on Gholson at 6:00 p.m. on January 31st. As for Jonesboro, they will take on Oglesby at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
