Preview: Emmett Huskies vs. Vallivue Falcons
Emmett is 2-8 against Vallivue since February of 2019 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Wednesday. The Emmett Huskies will be playing in front of their home fans against the Vallivue Falcons at 7:30 p.m. Emmett is out to stop a five-game streak of losses at home.
Last Friday, Emmett took a serious blow against Ridgevue, falling 68-25. The result shouldn't come as a shock considering that's the fewest points Emmett has scored all season.
Meanwhile, Vallivue ended up a good deal behind Emmett on Monday and lost 68-53. Vallivue has now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
Despite the defeat, Vallivue saw an underclassman step up: Zakary Hogg scored 16 points along with five rebounds and three steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Dominik Betancourt, who scored 12 points.
Emmett has not been sharp recently as the team has lost four of their last five matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 8-12 record this season. As for Vallivue, they now have a losing record at 9-10.
Emmett strolled past Vallivue in their previous matchup on Monday by a score of 68-53. One of the biggest obstacles the team faced in that game was Hogg, who scored 16 points along with five rebounds and three steals. Now that he's got a second chance to win this matchup, will Emmett still be able to contain Hogg? There's only one way to find out.
