Baseball Recap: Killian Victorious

It's playoff time, and Killian had no trouble coming through when it counted. They won by a run and slipped past the St. Brendan Sabres 3-2. This was a revenge game for the Cougars: when they faced off against the Sabres on Monday, they had to take a 4-0 loss.

Sebastian Perez tossed a big game, striking out six batters over 7.1 innings while giving up just two earned runs off two hits. Those six strikeouts gave him a new career-high.

At the plate, Killian saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Eddie Naranjo, who went 2-for-4 with one stolen base and one RBI. That's the most hits Naranjo has posted since back in March.

Killian now has a winning record of 15-14. As for St. Brendan, their defeat ended a five-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 18-13.

Killian will have a chance to go back-to-back against the Sabres: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 3:30 p.m. on Thursday.
