Basketball Recap: Holland Hall Comes Up Short

Holland Hall was the 63-53 winner over Bishop McGuinness when they last played one another back in January of 2024, but their luck changed this time around. The Holland Hall Dutch took a hard 48-34 fall against the Bishop McGuinness Fighting Irish on Saturday. The game marked the Dutch's lowest-scoring match so far this season.

Bishop McGuinness was led to victory by Jackson Stone and Hudson Mccormick. Stone went 6 of 8 en route to 17 points, while Mccormick made all 6 shots he took for 15 points and five assists. That's the most assists Mccormick has posted since back in December of 2023. Brody Parks was another key player, putting up seven points.

Holland Hall has been struggling recently as they've lost five of their last six contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 3-10 record this season. As for Bishop McGuinness, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 11-7.

Holland Hall is taking a road trip to face off against Lincoln Christian at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Lincoln Christian knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with 55 points or more in their past seven matches -- so hopefully Holland Hall likes a good challenge. As for Bishop McGuinness, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Casady at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Bishop McGuinness is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 59.6 points per game this season.
