Auburn Mountainview piles up the points against Eagle River

Recap: Auburn Mountainview Lions vs. Eagle River Wolves

The Auburn Mountainview Lions have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won seven matchups by 20 points or more this season. They simply couldn't be stopped on Saturday as they easily beat Eagle River 81-27 at home. Auburn Mountainview's offense stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most points they've scored all season.

Auburn Mountainview's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Caleb Bowden led the charge by scoring 15 points along with seven assists and five steals. Those seven assists set a new season-high mark for him. Sebastian Arius was another key contributor, scoring 17 points along with seven rebounds and three steals.

Auburn Mountainview has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won six of their last seven matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 7-3 record this season. As for Eagle River, they still haven't won a game yet this season and fell to 0-3.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Auburn Mountainview will take on Kent-Meridian at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Kent-Meridian will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Washington Rankings (they are ranked 236th, while Auburn Mountainview is ranked 113th). Eagle River will get a bit of extra time to process the loss as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on West Anchorage at 7:30 p.m. on January 9th. West Anchorage will be looking to extend their current three-game winning streak.
