Basketball Recap: Cornerstone Christian Academy Triumphs

Cornerstone Christian Academy fell on hard times earlier this season, but after back-to-back wins it seems like their luck might finally be changing. They snuck past the Frankfort Christian Academy Royals with a 23-17 victory on Friday.

Cornerstone Christian Academy found their leader in freshman Abby Brothers, who posted eight points in addition to 16 rebounds and four steals. That makes it 12 consecutive games in which Brothers has scored at least a third of Cornerstone Christian Academy's points. Moriah Brothers was another key player, putting up five points.

Cornerstone Christian Academy's win bumped their record up to 3-9.

Cornerstone Christian Academy didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 41-31 loss against Highlands Latin on the 21st. As for Frankfort Christian Academy, they will have a little extra prep time after the defeat as they won't be playing again for a while. They'll take on Burgin at 7:30 p.m. on January 30th.
