Palmyra suffers seventh straight loss on the road

Recap: Palmyra Panthers vs. Wilber-Clatonia Wolverines

The Palmyra Panthers's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Tuesday after their sixth straight loss. They had to suffer through a rough 77-31 loss at the hands of Wilber-Clatonia. Palmyra was down 57-29 at the end of the third quarter, and things only got worse from there.

Palmyra's loss came despite strong showings from Drew Erhart and Gou Kamishita. Erhart scored ten points along with four steals, while Kamishita scored 12 points along with two steals.

Palmyra struggled to work together and finished the game with only four assists. They were crushed by their opponents in that department as Wilber-Clatonia posted 19 assists.

Wilber-Clatonia found their leader in underclassman Jameson Conway, who went 7 for 9 from beyond the arc en route to 21 points and 0 assists. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Conway has scored all season. The team also got some help courtesy of Aiden Zajicek, who scored 11 points.

Palmyra's defeat was their seventh straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 1-11. As for Wilber-Clatonia, their victory ended a three-game drought at home and bumped them up to 7-8.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Palmyra's road trip will continue as they head out to face Elmwood-Murdock at 7:30 p.m. on January 25th. As for Wilber-Clatonia, they will challenge Milford at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Milford is coming into the contest on a five-game losing streak.
